Ok, so I shouted first, before seeing the create thread button.
I've been skirting around preterism for a short while. I think it's because I hit 40 last year, and didn't get a sense Jesus was coming any time soon. I suppose I should say I've also been courting universalism as well, but I get the feeling that's a dirty word in preterist circles. I believe in spirit and word, and that the gifts, including prophecy are also for today - I'm not entirely sure that the world is slowly being Christianised, or going all Islam either, so who knows, it could go on a while yet, but if do get the feeling things aren't as good as they should be and there is more, in another age, and that there is a manifest presence of Jesus and Abba that we have not yet seen - perhaps that's on the other side and there is never a point when everyone who ever lived is altogether on the same side of the great divide at the same time. I confess, I know little about preterism, but find interpreting (what I think are probably) commonly held dispensational beliefs through a preterist lense pretty hard. Thanks & Best regards,
Charles

Well, first of all, welcome. I'm a preterist, but it is certainly not as important for me as it used to be. Instead I try to concern myself with how to live this abundant life we have in Christ.

Welcome, Charles! I'm a preterist, as well, but I'm also a unitarian (not universalist). I look forward to your comments and questions.

Welcome to the Forums, Charles! I'm not really a preterist myself however I believe there are a lot of important truths to be found within the preterist viewpoint. I certainly have more beliefs in common with preterism than I do with futurism or dispensationalism.
I think I share some of your thoughts regarding the future, in that I think there are things in store that we don't really have any idea about. But those are things that only God knows and will be revealed when He chooses. Probably, like you say, 'on the other side'.
