I'm putting together the bulletin for this Sunday. One of the scriptures going in the bulletin this week is Psalms 32:5. In deciding which translation to use, I did a side-by-side comparison of the whole psalm in a few translations. Two of those translations were the new 2011 NIV and the 1984 NIV. I saw something that I found shocking. The word "Selah" is completely absent from the 2011 NIV! Granted, no one really knows for sure what it means, but that is not a reason to erase it from the Bible!
A wider search for "Selah" showed that it does not appear at all in the 2011 NIV.
How do you like them apples?
