Can somebody explain to me the value of Twitter? I don't get it. I was going to sign up because it appears that's the only way to chat now during broadcasts on 70AD.net. But looking around the Twitter website, I don't fully understand its use. I saw a lot of tweets that were nothing but advertisements. If you sign up, are you inundated with that garbage? What do people use it for? It you're just receiving constant tweets, how can anyone ever keep up? The last thing I want is something else to suck more time out of my day. Anyone want to try to enlighten me?

Anyone want to try to enlighten me? I have an account with twitter - rarely use it. But what its is used for is to let "your following" know what's going on with you or with whatever you want to broadcast. For examples politicians tweet to their followers who have signed up to follow that politician. Celebrities use it the same way.

Some Roach Coaches use twitter to alert customers that they are in the area.

Some Roach Coaches use twitter to alert customers that they are in the area. LOL... I guess Roach Coach is a fairly common name for a food truck. We've called it that for at least 30 years where I worked for the federal government. Thanks for the replies Allyn and Jeff. Do you recommend using your real name or a pseudonym for a Twitter account? I do not mean the username, but the "full name" you register with. Am I correct about the AD70.net chat requiring Twitter now?

I use mutineer as my name. But I wouldn't say it would wrong to use your real name.

Thanks, Allyn. I tuned in to AD70.net yesterday to listen to one of the shows. Mike and some guy who kept implying that Mike and other preterists were false teachers were talking about Rob Bell's latest book. Mike sure is nice to rude people. But anyway, yeah, if you want to "join the conversation," you have to log in to Twitter. I'll have to ask Mike if that's the only option now.

I had a Twitter account. But my ancient computer couldn't handle it. So I deleted that account. Then when I had the Opera browser, I could handle Twitter. Then I lost Opera, so I deleted that account too. I have had it with sites that don't care about poor people who have older computers and can't afford a new one. Progress is more important than the people it let's behind.

Sorry Bev,
I don't Twit, Twitter, Tweet, or whatever it is they do.
I barely even Facebook. Literally, I got Facebook to keep track of the kids. They are now all grown. Facebook is old, in computer generations.
