Good morning everyone.
Well, for the first time I've finally met one of you folks from this forum.
Yesterday around 10:00 am I met Ted and his wife Cheryl at the airport here in Mpls./St. Paul. They were changing planes on their way to Montana. We only had around 20 minutes or so before they had to head on back through security to get to their plane. They're a very nice couple. Too bad our time was cut short. We had a nice visit. I hope someday to be able to meet others from here.
Anyways, I just thought I'd let you all know.
Steve

Steve, that's great! We're all so widely dispersed. It's nice when we get to meet each other.
On a separate note, I couldn't help but notice that you mentioned the word "airport" in your post and, lo and behold, there's an ad for airport parking at the bottom of this page. Targeted ads are like magic. (Not really)
Edit: Now this really was magic! I typed the word "Targeted" in this post, and right after I posted it, the phone rang and it was Target Pharmacy reminding me to pick up a prescription. LOL.

My wife just left to go grocery shopping . . . at Target. Steve

Bev,
Why don't we have a "Preterist Voice" picnic. If you all can travel, Coleman's Park is a beautiful place for a picnic. I might be a bit biased, as it is in my hometown.

I guess I was more interested in just meeting him. I think just some friends to visit for a while. Steve

Cool story, Steve. One of these days I'd like to meet up with Ted myself seeing as he lives only about an hour's drive away.

I could've talked with him for hours on preterism and CC, and just to get to know him and his wife better. It would've been great to have spent at least a day together. Sometimes its easier when in person to discuss certain issues. Now to me this sounds really weird, but he was the first preterist I've ever met. It's lonely up here. If we would've had more time my wife would've loved to come with. I think her and my daughter would enjoy meeting Ted since I almost read his book to both of them in the evening. I think the only other one close enough to me would be Allyn. I'm pretty sure he has relations in southern Minnesota. If he ever makes the trip here, I hope the time will be right for me to head down south for a visit, maybe some dinner with him. Probably be about one and a half hours away. (Hint Allyn . . . do it before gas reaches 10.00 a gallon) I know you're busy with the house redo. Steve

Hi all,
Time has been limited UP here in Montana. When it gets windy the Internet goes down sometimes.
We are visiting the Tim Martin family and getting to know them better. We have been to one Sunday service and will get to experience another. The people are wonderful and the discussions and late-night conversations even better...
It was such a blessing to meet Steve at the airport even though the fear of being stranded by not getting through security in time to catch the next flight out was prevalent in my mind. Steve is one humble guy. He wouldn't even tell you folks about the gift that he gave us: two of my books in hard cover. The title was engraved on the front - super classy work!!
We are at the beginning of the preterist reformation and many names that are bantered back and forth on these and similar forums will one day be looked at as the early church fathers of preterism. I know I won't be around to see those days, but they are coming...

I am like Steve in that I don't believe I have ever met a preterist in person except for Dr. Birks with whom I had lunch one late afternoon in Omaha 2 years ago (He wasn't interested in anything but to try and convert me to Calvinism and he failed).

It is such a joy to meet other preterists in person! I have been really blessed to have met in person - 23 (and counting!) prets and to get to know each other is a great way to build relationships.
I jump at any chance to meet others or even to talk on the phone because it helps so much to care for that person as a brother/sister in Christ and not just think of them as a faceless internet poster.
I welcome and encourage anyone who is needing to take a vacation to come visit us down here in beautiful sunny southwest florida you can meet over a dozen prets all at once! And more than 20 more within 2 hours drive!

Just testing to see how well I could access, read, and reply to these forums using my Kindle. It works fine! It just takes a little more time.
Bev (Once4all) ... I didn't bother to log in.
P.S. This may post twice. After clicking Post Reply the first time, this edit page loaded again, so I don't know if it posted. Am trying a second time to post same message.
P.P.S. It may have been because I mistyped the CAPTCHA phrase the first or second time. Third time's a charm!

Good evening.
I had another chance to visit with Ted and his wife. They had the option of staying overnight and catching a plane the next morning back to Canada. He called to let us know about it to see if I would be available to meet with them in the evening. So my wife and I drove over to their hotel and we were able to be with Ted and his wife Cheryl at the restaurant for around 3 hours. My wife's name is Cheryl too, so names were easy to remember. We had a very nice time together. I also remembered my camera so I was able to get a few photos. The 3 hours went way too fast.
Anyways, I just thought I'd give you another update.

Sure, I'll try to put one up here sometime today. But Ted wanted me to Photoshop around 10 lbs. off his mid-section first. That might take me awhile to do . . .
