The US has a new president. Any thoughts? Just curious . . . First, I think Obama is not right for the future of America. Second it is not a good thing for both houses of congress to have total rule over the other party as it now will have. This total rule is not good regardless of which party is ruling. However, when the first two years of his time in office is over, it will be absolutely certain that Democrats are continuing to make a mess of things. Therefore the house elections will go more towards republicans, bringing in a more balanced house of representatives. The senate will have to suffer for 6 years before enough republicans are voted in to balance out the legislative body. The only good I see coming from a total democratic party rule is that we voters will see the harm they are doing and thus vote them out. Its not the end of the world.

An additional comment - McCain/Palin would have been trouble in another way. I believe Palin is a spoiled little girl and would have been a disgrace to the office. McCain is a decent guy and a true patriot, but would have been lousy as a president.

Good morning Allyn, Sorry for getting back so late. I guess I don't see a dimes bit a difference between the Democrats or Republicans. Sadly all we have is two parties to choose from and they've melded into one. Regardless of who is in power, they both gain. And we lose. Government (and the empire) grows bigger. The debt increases. Wars continue. Outright theft. Unbelievable corruption. Don't the politicians all retire millionaires? I get dizzy thinking about it. I remember a few years ago many people were wearing WWJD bracelets. I didn't have one but my kids did at the time. And I asked myself, WWJD when it comes to voting. Would he participate? Would he want me to? After much study and prayer, I opted out of voting. Been quite a few years now. I don't have any regrets. I do get lambasted by many friends and family about not voting, especially when their guy loses and they think I should vote their way. Anyways, just thought I'd give you some of my thoughts on this. Blessings.
