I have taken the action to not allow non-registered people access to debates in the debate section. I feel that this is necessary to protect our members from those who wish harm to any of our valued members. More and more anti-preterists and non-preterists (I know some of our members are not preterists) are using the words of others and mis-quoting or violating the texts of others for evil intentions.

I think this is a good and proper action to take, Allyn.

is this a real problem within this forum? honestly asking You would be shocked by the way those who are against us have come into preterist sites and robbed the information, twisted it, and spit it out to defame and flame us.

I am shocked. But they can do that anyway by copying and pasting from a regular post. Can't you just block non members from copying and pasting altogether? Roo

I can block every non-member on earth from coming in and reading and copying but how many of you would have joined had I that in place? Early on when the idiots (preterist haters) from CARM were spying in over here I found it necessary to limit them to viewing general discussions only. Heretic's Corner arose at that time because we all were called heretics over at CARM and we needed a space free of their sort.
Its a tight rope walk to look inviting but be cautious at the same time.

No, no, no, no, no...Roo is saying that just the "copying abilities" for non-members be taken away. Not that they couldn't come here and "see." At least that is my understanding of what he said.

Maybe I am missing something. How would I stop a person from copying a bit of text? If a person's computer can highlight and copy, that same computer can paste.

There are some sites that I can NOT do just that. I have no idea how it is prevented, just that it can be done. Perhaps Proboards does not have this ability - I don't know. May times I have right-clicked a section I have deired to copy, only to find that the "copy" feature had been greyed out..."Control C" was no help either..

I can stop the copy and paste action with a bit of code I have but it is not a board feature. So I will consider it and then ask for ideas on where we should use it.

I decided against the copy and paste disable code because it would disrupt our normal activities here. For example no one would be able to even highlight text from his or her own post if editing.

Allyn, I have been on sites inwhich an outsider cannot copy and paste. Roo
