Christ brought redemption and an end to the sacrificial system of worship. This was the day that Abraham saw when Jesus said that Abraham rejoiced to see his day.
Psalms 69:30-32 KJV (30) I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. (31) This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs. (32) The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.
John 8:56 KJV (56) Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
Genesis 22:1-18 NASB (1) Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am." (2) He said, "Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you." (3) So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son; and he split wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. (4) On the third day Abraham raised his eyes and saw the place from a distance. (5) Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go over there; and we will worship and return to you." (6) Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son, and he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So the two of them walked on together. (7) Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, "My father!" And he said, "Here I am, my son." And he said, "Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?" (8) Abraham said, "God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." So the two of them walked on together. (9) Then they came to the place of which God had told him; and Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. (10) Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. (11) But the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am." (12) He said, "Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me." (13) Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a burnt offering in the place of his son. (14) Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this day, "In the mount of the LORD it will be provided." (15) Then the angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time from heaven, (16) and said, "By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son, (17) indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies. (18) "In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."
1 Samuel 15:22 NASB (22) Samuel said, "Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.
Romans 10:4 NASB (4) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
John 8:56-58 NASB (56) "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad." (57) So the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?" (58) Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am."
Jesus is the promise, and the promise of deliverance existed even before Abraham.
----- Hebrews 13:15-16 NASB (15) Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. (16) And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

She says that the believer has to "do well" thus making the death of Christ of none effect. Roo Pardon? Where did she say that? (She might believe that but she didn't say that). She only made two statements; "Christ brought redemption and an end to the sacrificial system of worship. This was the day that Abraham saw when Jesus said that Abraham rejoiced to see his day." And, "Jesus is the promise, and the promise of deliverance existed even before Abraham." I say amen to those. As far as I can see, you seem to think that scripture makes that claim. However, it doesn't either, for it mentions a few things that are pleasing to God, praise, doing good, and sharing. Furthermore, it all begins with, " Therefore by Him...".

I think it would be beneficial for all of us if we wouldn't quote or paraphrase another without first being able to produce our sources. Some things are better left unsaid...

If anyone chooses to do a copy and paste from anyone's words here ProBoards will automatically attach the link back to the post from where the copy and paste came from. This is different from the quote feature and may be a useful tool.

I saw that feature in action today and didn't quite know what was going on, but appreciated its functionality, nonetheless. And for the record, I have NEVER stated that Christ's sacrifice wasn't good enough. And anyone who thinks I've implied that by what I've written, then that person's understanding of what I've written is incorrect.

(25) "It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'AND IN YOUR SEED ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.' (26) " For you first, God raised up His Servant and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.
