I'm back on again. Same thing. I get a message, "Cannot find server, operation aborted." I hit the close button, and get sent to another page, and one of the instructions is hit the refresh button. So I do, evertime I get sent to that page. After about seven to ten refeshes I am able to get on. What I can't understand, I am not having any problems with any other site. The computer functions seem to working fine. I can e-mail with no problems. I can make CDs with no problems. I can change the clock. So, it seems there are no internal problems with the computer itself. So, the problem seems to be between my computer and the site. Personally, I don't believe it's the computer. I think it's a problem with Comcast. One think if it's the computer, I would be having a lot more problems. Since I'm not. I simply don't understand it. It could be a compatiblity problem. Windows ME, IE6 is not supported by anyone. If someone would build a company supporting older computers, it would be a success. I am sure I am not the only one with an older computer. Thanks for your concern. P.S. I think I'm going to take donations for a new computer.

When what seems to be a random group of websites are affected with the same response, it is usually a router problem. Eventually, it will take a different route and connect, which would explain why continually to refresh eventually worked for you, Didy.

A router at one of the nodes or switches. A router is what receives and distributes packets of data in a packet switching system (which the Internet is). When a router goes bad, it redirects its traffic to one or more other routers on the network. Depending on how many extra "hops" the data has to take, delays can result. That's to put it very briefly.

My internet connection seems to be best early in the morning. 3AM - 9AM. That seems to coincide with the least traffic . Then the worst time is late afternoon - early evening is the worst time. 5PM - Midnite. What does this mean?

An update. This has been the best day for a while. No error message of any kind. I did have to refresh a couple times because my computer seems to get lazy. But, that's nothing new.
