Allyn,
Can you create a personal notepad for posts that you want to save to post at a later time? Sometimes I start a post and can't finish it until a later time. I would like to be able to save it in a personal notepad here instead of saving it on Works.

Ok I'm going to put a tab at the top of the page below "Truth Upon Truth" and it will say "Note Saver". All you need to do is click the tab and a separate windo will open with a cookie based notepad. Anything you type in and save will be saved as a cookie to your computer (cookies must be allowed for this to work). Anytime you access the note pad whatever you have saved will be there. At any time you can clear the notes from the same little window.

Roo, another way to save notes is to PM them to yourself.

Hmm... I have started some replies which I didn't have time to finish so I saved them with Note Saver. Now how did I retrieve them? I can see them listed but it appears as though my only option is to delete them. Help!

Can you just copy the text from the note saver and paste it into a new post? That's what I was hoping to do but how do I get the text to show up? There is nothing 'clickable' except "delete". This is what I see; 1 post response Delete 2 Ephesians 2 Delete

This is what I see; 1 post response Delete 2 Ephesians 2 Delete When I "Add Item" and type stuff into it, Everything I typed shows up as the entry, from which I can then copy and paste. It kind of sounds like you entered only a title and expected the Note feature to automatically save what you typed in the body of the post? I don't think it works that way. I think if you want to save something you've typed before posting it, you have to copy it and paste it in the Notepad as a new item (via Add Item). I may be wrong. I have not used this feature until trying it in response to your question!

There is still a chance that I'm wrong, but reading Allyn's original description of how it works, I think I may be right: So, if you didn't type it or paste it directly into the notepad, it wasn't saved. Only what you put in the notepad is saved.

You're right Bev. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I did it. I thought I copied my posts into something but now I'm not so sure of what I thought I was doing. Now I know I should have listened to that little voice that said save it in your PC Note Pad as well.

Now I know I should have listened to that little voice that said save it in your PC Note Pad as well. I often use Gmail to save drafts of posts. I even save the texts of final posts there (by emailing them to myself), especially if they are long and I think I may want to refer to or repost content from them later on.

I'm sorry for the issues with the notepad. I am going to see if I can come up with something better for onsite use.

It's not your fault that I messed up, Allyn! There appears to be nothing wrong with the Note Saver. It was a clear case of PEBKAC*. I should not have trusted something unfamiliar to me with something I didn't want to lose. I knew better but did it anyways.

To all interested,
I have been trying to come up with a good way for you to save your drafts or notes for a latter date but I find that by just sending yourself a personal message using the PM feature you can have it at your fingertips.
The quickest way to access your PM box is to go to the top of the page and click on the message totals by your name. This is on every page of this forum so you won't need to navigate back to the home page to do it.
Simply put your member name in place where it asks who you are sending it to and then continue on like you would a regular PM. You need to put a subject in so this would be a good place to catagorize your notes.
