Ahh o..lol
Hope this is not a touchy subject here but I wanted to say this was one area God personally showed me the truth on shortly after He revealed to me fufilled eschatology. The Temple was destroyed and along with that temple went the storehouse..and of course the Old system became null and voided..
I am not seeking a debate here and if this thread is improper and it has to be deleted there is no hard feelings from me and I do apologize in advance..I was just wanting to share my personal opinion on this subject that is a touchy issue for many.
This also has been a issue as to why I cannot settle down and call myself a "member" of any particular church building..lol..they just would not understand ..

Not improper at all. I believe that tithing is not a NT commandment. But we are commanded to do things very similar to tithing in that it must be done from a heart of love.

I agree, also, and I came to that conclusion well before coming to a belief in fulfilled eschatology. A book I read about tithing that explored it indepth was "Should the Church Teach Tithing?" by Russell Earl Kelly.
However, I believe we are to freely give, just not in a rigorous 10 percent sort of way.
In our church we don't take an offering, but rather have an offering box in the foyer. A wood box with a slot in the top. People can put something in when they come in or go out, however often they are moved to do so. Because we don't pass a collection plate, we have a statement in the bulletin that explains the offering box, along with a quote of 2 Corinthians 9:7: "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
