Here is a humorous anecdote...a long time ago I was a Purolator Courier driver. I had a call to pick up an envelope from the fortune telling place. I was told the pickup was ready...I showed up and to my surprise they said, "I didn't know you would be here so soon." I drove away thinking "some fortune telling place that is..."
And here is another one:
What is it called when a hockey player from the NHL scores three goals in one game? (answer later)

Do more than belong: Participate. Do more than care: Help. Do more than believe: Practice. Do more than be fair: Be Kind. Do more than forgive: Forget. Do more than dream: Work. William Arthur Ward~

That's a nice one, Sower. Mellontes' story about being a courier... Main Entry: courier Part of Speech: noun Definition: messenger[had to use it, Allyn. ] ...reminded me of the message yesterday. A very good point was made, in that it isn't about the messenger, it's all about the message/package. When a delivery comes via (for example, from Purolator) the courier doesn't begin by saying, "Hi. I'm John Smith. I live in Cityville with my wife of 12 years and our 3 children. I've had a terrible week so far but tomorrow I'm going golfing with some men from the church, and I love to golf. Let me show you the pictures of my kids.." They simply say they are the courier and here is the package. The package is what's important. The package is very reason why the courier is even there.

Not quite... It is what is inside the package that is important. You can't tell what's inside by the packaging. It has to be opened by the recipient. I think it takes a choice as to whether the recipient of that package is going to open it or not. He may even give it to someone else if he knows who the package came from...it might even go straight to the garbage...

That is our responsibility and calling. The opening and acceptance is up to them and is their responsibility. But to broaden the analogy, the "package" is not only the gospel message, but also our love for people, as God loves people. Every expression of love we 'deliver' to people is a 'package' and it is these packages that are important, not us as delivery persons. Whether we are talking about the gospel message or expressions of love to people, these packages are from God, not us. We are simply the couriers.

It would seem then that you agree that it " is our responsibility and calling" (the courier). But we must be very care what kind of packages we deliver. Some are marked "Explosive" and others are marked "Hazardous goods" because they are pointers describing the material contained within... Would you agree that people who are peddling their wares package their material within (in between) book covers that say "The Book of Mormon" or "The Koran"? Too many analogies for me...I'm outta here
