As preterists, what do you believe Jesus' role to be for Christians today? (By today, I mean his active role right now, not what he did 2000 years ago.)
How is that different from what futurists believe his role to be today?

It would be pretty much the same except for the fact that we (preterists) are no longer hoping for the promises of God to be kept. We are complete in Jesus Christ. We are not waiting for further completion. Futurism still hopes and waits for an event that is not coming...therefore, a false hope. My opinion only.

Thanks! I started the thread here first, then decided to ask the same question at CARM thinking I might get more replies. Since just about everyone here also participates at CARM, I guess there's no reason for the duplicate thread.
