Not meaning to be argumentative, but just because Wayne Blank says Jew is derived from Judah does not make it so. It might be so, but there is no proof being offered to support his statement. I am looking for the proof. Not one Scripture is mentioned.

My whole reasoning is based upon the (alleged) fact that the ancestors of the first Jew (whetever the meaning) were anything but Jews, if Jew means race and trackable by DNA. I think the people were just "proclaimed" Jews because of what they believed.

I am looking for Scriptural support. Whether there is or not, I do not know...

What context are you looking for? Modern Israel, the nation at the time of Christ, those descendants of Abraham - which group? Because it seems the term developed and morphed with time to not only refer to the nation of Judea, but also the ruling body in Jerusalem.
