I can't help it - I am always looking for ways to aid in contributing to your adventure in faith. So in order to live up to this challenge I have come up with a new idea for those of us who enjoy listening to great teaching and even controversial teaching.
Recently Bev introduced us to a radio call in/teaching program out of Hawaii. I think bibleprophecyfulfilled.org is relatively new but I have enjoyed listening to a couple of their past programs.
What I would like to try will take a little explaining and some history.
I am the webmaster for my church. Our internet ministry is geared at continuing the learning throughout the week after the Sunday Sermon. I have formated our website to allow interaction between church members who may listen again to the recorded sermon. A couple of small groups rehash the sermons as a primary study for their group. Its still new but it is gaining some success.
I thought that this same idea could be used by us. At first we would start with a paticular series of teachings. On the web page, which I have yet to make, I would provide the Scripture text within a small scrolling frame, the audio media player for listening to the mp3 recording, and a place for live comments as you listen. The live comments will not require that we all meet at the same time but is simply your opportunity to comment on what you hear as you listen along.
This is just an idea that I would like to get underway if there is enough support for it. I will also provide a place where you may suggest other teachings that are available from the internet. You probably have your own favorites but I must be able to link to the audio. Audio Doctrine is another great source.
I am also a practical person who understands not all ideas fly. So no worries if this one doesn't either.
I would like some feedback on theis idea. In the meantime I will put together a working example and provide the link to it.
BTW, windows media is what use as a player on the webpage. There is a chance I can make other players available but otherwise do you have any objection to windows media player?
Thanks for caring.
