We have just got to get over the idea that what is being said is a personal attack. If we don't take it as one, then we won't respond as if it was one. Pretty soon, all those who thrive on personal attacks will stop or go somewhere else. "We have just got to get over the idea that what is being said is a personal attack." Amen to that. I hope it will be evident soon.

I know of no one here who denies that there was salvation before Abraham. But maybe you can explain why God appeared to Moses saying, "I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob." Why not, "I am the God of Abel, Enoch and Noah."
Maybe you can explain why Jesus said that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were "living" even though death reigned from Adam until Moses.

Mr. KangarooJack, I would be pleased to offer my limited understanding on those questions of yours. However, I must request that the following three conditions be met: 1. That you start a new thread in an appropriate category 2. You answer this question that was asked of you: livebytr.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=preterism&thread=783&page=1#86943. You answer my question (previous to yours) in this thread: Would someone please explain to me how "these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise" (Hebrews 11:39) when Abel, Enoch, and Noah (all before Abraham) are included in "these all"?( livebytr.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=preterism&action=display&thread=617&page=1#ixzz1DPVw0a21) Besides, the very fact that you admit that salvation was attained before Abraham kind of defeats the initial argument as expressed here. Was this salvation attained by faith, or by some other means? And what promise was it based upon for them who did believe? Anyway, should you wish to pursue this further, another thread would be more appropriate, that is, if you intend on meeting those three conditions. Please PM me for the new thread location with the answer to condition #2 in the thread where the question was asked and the answer to my question in condition #3 as the lead for the new thread. This way, there will be no need to post in this thread again... Blessings, Ted

Roo Because God was speaking to Moses. If we look at the full quotation, it is He said also, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. (Exodus 3:6 NASB) and God, furthermore, said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.' This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations. (Exodus 3:15 NASB) and "No longer shall your name be called Abram, But your name shall be Abraham; For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. (Genesis 17:5 NASB)

So much drama. So little popcorn. (Sorry, just my way of trying to lighten the mood. )
