Hi,
I know that many people come into forums and post with titles that are not actually theirs. So I wanted to post a message to let people know who and what I really am, so that there would be no wondering about it. So the list below is an accurate reflection of me.
I am a pastor, a Biblical scholar (I have also helped out with a couple of well known translations), a writer (unpublished under my own name), a debater (formal and informal), a computer technician & instructor, as well as editing and correcting college level school texts in this field. I have also spent years studying Biblical history (wwhich I have put a great deal of time into), which includes archaeology, various sciences and I'm sure a few other things that I am forgetting right now.
As for my belief system regarding the Scriptures, I believe that the word of God is 100% accurate and truthful in its original autgraphs (translational errors can be and have been made). I also believe that the Bible in the popular form (included writings) is the accurate form that it should be in.
My doctrinal belief system is Preterist. While I may not agree with everything that every Preterist says (which is why I'm not crazy about labels), I do believe the basic concepts to be accurate, which is that God kept His promises and that all of the prophecies of the Bible have been fulfilled. That is not to say that none of them are continuing on today. For example, the prophecy regarding salvation in Christ has been fulfilled, but people can still be saved through His blood and resurrection today.
I do not call those who do not believe that all prophecies have been fulfilled "Preterists". There is no such thing as a "Partial Preterist". They are actually "Mild Futurists".
The word "preterist" comes from the Latin "praeter", which means, "past", or "in the past".
Therefore, it is impossible to believe that some prophecies have yet to be fulfilled and be a Preterist. And believing that most of them have been fulfilled does not make one a Preterist, because every Futurist believes that there are fulfilled prophecies. The difference between a Futurist and aa Preterist, is that the Preterist believes that every prophecy has been fulfilled. Anything less than that, is Futurism.

I will not ever agree that the above issue is a matter of opinion. When did Jesus do that??? I'm not looking to argue, mind you. But this is not a doctrinal issue. This is a dictionary issue! The word means what it means and people don't get to change the definitions of words, to make their doctrine appear to be the right one! And to allow them that, is not keeping the peace. It is partaking in a lie! So if it comes down to changing my statement to keep the peace, or removing my account, then remove my account. I think you should stand up for the truth instead.
As you can tell, I'm not one to back down. I don't look for arguments and I've walked away from many. But I will not compromise on the truth, to appease anyone. That does not make me a peacekeeper. It makes me willing to participate in a lie.
This idea that a pastor is someone who just stands there and takes it all and doesn't speak out, is a false image that was created by the modern church. And it is most definitely not me. So if you say something to me like; "And you claim to be a pastor?!", you're not going to make me feel bad. You're just going to make me laugh.
Pastors are human, not the fake, "incapable of sin" inhuman creatures you try to make them into. Why do you think pastors can only talk to other pastors about their issues? Do you think it's because only another pastor can understand sin? No, that's ridiculous! It's because the average person is shocked, awed and ready to have a heart attack, when they find out that a pastor somewhere on the planet Earth committed a sin! <smile>
I guess I am what you would call a "radical" preacher. I tell it like it is. I say it flat out, plainly. I say things like; "Oh, Hell!". I like video games in which I get to blow things up! When I play a fighting game that involves jet fighters, I take out my wing men first! They're just in the way anyway and they make for good practice! Does that mean I'm not the guy you want leading you out of a life or death situation involving a possible violent outcome? I don't know, you decide! <lol!>
Anyway, enough of me talking about me. Tell me, what do you think of me?
